Writing Diary = Book Meme.

Makes sense. Thus, thanks to blindmouse and flippyfrog:

1)Total number of books in your room:

There is one in my top drawer. There are six in my bottom drawer. There is one in my wardrobe (don't ask). I can't count the others, because they are still in a box. I haven't the room to take them out and give them temporary homes, so they just have to sit in their box. But I would estimate there are about 50 in there. In my old room, I still have about 20 others.

2) The last book you bought was: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I've bought it, I just don't have it yet... those stingy publishers!!!

3) What was the last book you read before reading this? Um... I'm halfway through Persuasion by Jane Austen.

4) Write down 5 books you often read or that mean a lot to you.

1. The Obernewtyn Chronicles, by Isobelle Carmody.
These books are my favourites. And of course, without Obernewtyn I would not have my fandom. And then I wouldn't have any friends, really. Well over half of my friends are people I met through Obernet! Anyway, it's a story you can read over and over.

Technically that is four books already, but I'll humour you.

2. Lord of the Rings, by JRR Tolkien.
Do I need a reason? It just is cool. I read it every year (and I read the bits with Faramir in far more often than that... sad but, alas, true...)

3. Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen
Whenever I need a girly, hopeless romantic fix, good old P&P is there to give me a good swoon.

4. Greylands, by Isobelle Carmody
This book means a lot to me, because the first time I read it, I just went "YES! She gets it! This is what it's like!" I really identify with the metaphor it uses for depression and grief. It makes me feel less insane.

5. The Harry Potter Series, by JK Rowling
It had no profound effect on me. But I like to read these when I'm busy with study or other things, because they don't take much intellectual grind. They're good for reading to pass the time while reading a jolly good story. (Plus I like to bang my head against the book because Ron and Hermione drive me insane)
