On meat

I've gone off meat. I wonder what that's about. Am I becoming a vegetarian? I feel like I could live without ever eating meat again. Of course, I'm already on the verge of anaemia, so my indifference regarding red meat probably isn't helping.

Anyway, show me a steak, a casserole, a pie and I go... "Meh. Dinner." Put a yoghurt, a salad or a piece of fruit in front of me, and I'm so there! This is losing me weight I didn't really have but I'm just not hungry for meat-based products. But I want an apple right now. And today I ate two muffins and MORE MUFFIN! MORE!!!

I'm into small portions, frequently, throughout the day. Perhaps I need to do some research into the lighter, easier foods my stomach seems to crave. Find out how much I should be eating of what. And aside from taking my iron tablets, like a good bunny, I hope there's a non-bean related source of iron out there. I can't stand beans.

Tomorrow, Dot has an appointment to visit ze vet. She's going to be rather cranky with this cat-mummy!!! It's snippy time, I'm afraid.

Well... very sleepy. Best be off.

Just up your carbs to keep the weight on, and you need to locate your legumes and make sure you drink orange juice with it. The orange juice apparently helps with the iron absorption. I don't know exactly, that's just what the last veggie I knew told me. But the best way you're going to get around it is supplements.

Oh, can't you also get some bread with iron in it? I know you can get ones with calcium, but I think you can get iron too. Carbs + iron, can't really go wrong.

I prefer to do the iron thing from leafy greens 'cause I get zinc there too, which I need for my immune system. That, and I'm not overly fond of beans. Sam occasionally hides them in a vegie pasta sauce for me so I can't taste them. :)
Some orange juices come with iron added, but I think they taste foul and aren't worth the extra bit they give you, but that doesn't mean you won't like them.

mushrooms and spinach hun! :) they are fantastic for iron :) :) :) and meat is had to digest so if ur tired that probably why you dont feel like it. listen to ur cravings as ur body nos what it needs... maybe try out some fish or something? its a little more light weight?
