What's it all about?

Tassie was good, FYI. I sat around and did nothing. For a week. It did start to wear a bit thin towards the end. Back to uni on Monday, anyway. But that's not what this post is about.

I was talking to thingwithtrees today, at some length, and quite early on in our long phonecall, I mentioned to her that I was having trouble with Patience. And the trouble, I think, is this:

I don't know what the story is about. I know what the basic plot is. I know who the characters are, and even one of the major themes. But I don't know what it's ABOUT.

But that got me thinking. Do I know what my other stories are about? And as you can see from my list, I very much do.

So, anyway... I just wanted to invite others to give this a try. It was quite a challenge, summarising stories like this. And interesting, because some were summarised by plot, but others by theme, or even character.

So... Here's what it's all about:

Kate’s LorF is about a woman who leads her army through a bloody and gruelling war. She is so focused on her goal of winning everybody’s freedom that she cannot adjust to the world after the war, and finds it difficult to get on with her life.

Miranda’s LorF is about a woman who on the surface thinks she’s all that, but who isn’t, except she is worth more than she realises. I know that sounds vague, but I’m trying not to blow plot.

Questers is about Gwynnie, Xanthia and Taqan, and how relations between the three change dramatically over time.

Terey Isabella is about belief.

Dido Darke is about a mysterious heroine in a black hat, whom our rather suspect narrator can’t help finding deeply interesting.

The Story About Stories is about... um... stories. Stories and the people who read and write them.

Udelan is about a person who is just not very sensible, and the sometimes disastrous results.

Patience is about something. What, I don’t yet know.

which is evidentally why your stories are better than mine, you know what they're about.

Kat's LorF is about who knows?

Bronte's LorF is a slightly better writtn story about who knows?

:P :P

Interesting idea! I'll see if I can do that in a future entry.

Ooh! Fun!

Of course, I'm not actually working on multiple things at the moment... or not many. Hm. *Decides to do it anyway.*
