Feelings of Superiority

I absolutely love it when I'm walking down the street, minding my own business, and someone makes a disdainful, bad-smell-under-the-nose face, on viewing my clothes. It's fabulous! I always walk away feeling really good about myself, and then feeling any better, because I have a suspicion I'm supposed to cry with the shame of *GASP* NOT MATCHING!

Oh, woe is me! I DON'T MATCH! I may as well kill myself, because I made a CHOICE, yes CHOICE to put clothes on this morning that were not entirely in harmony. I can't bear to suffer for something ENTIRELY WITHIN MY CONTROL.

Ah well, as long as the fashion losers are happy. Everybody wins, really.

The person or persons looking derisive get the satisfaction of thinking or saying "I'm so superior, because I would never wear those boots with that skirt, and that sort of thing is deeply important."

And I get the satisfaction of knowing that:

a) I have spotted a sad, unfulfilled person.
b) I do not have the misfortune of knowing this person, clearly a bitch.
c) They took seconds out of their vacuous, shallow life to look at and make faces/giggle at what I'm wearing. These are seconds they will never get back, gone for something so pointless.
d) Not only that, but while they're losing seconds, I gain minutes everyday by just putting on my boots and my skirt and not giving any kind of a fuck if they match or not.

To conclude: What do you achieve by mocking someone else's clothes?

I don't care. I LIKE my clothes. You just look like a ninny, because you think that kind of thing is important.

And I fully intend to wear those boots with that skirt again. Just freakin' WATCH me, loser!

If you want entertainment, watch me walk past someone with a walker like mine, except clean and not with stuffed brakes etc,it looks like I stole it and the police are going to find it in a few hours burnt out.

A sad sad thing is that my mother and my sister are exactly like that *sigh*

This also reminds me that sometime soon I should go and buy some new stripy socks...

I'm SO FOR the boots and skirt, it's so easy and comfy.
Screw them.

...maybe they were checking you out, though?

Yes, but kayt probably wore her dark brown pirate boots (okay, they're not actually pirate boots, but that's what i call them) with a pink pattern skirt, and stripy socks that you could see above the thigh-high boots that weren't matching socks to begin with, and were different colours to the skirt and the boots, and didn't even come close to the jacket overshirt or undershirt that she was wearing colourwise. Oh! and the hat. Don't forget the hat, which will be purple or black. It does go, but it goes in a kayt kinda way, and i've never found it an offensive mix of colours, except for that bright pink and bright purple scarf i knitted for her... *shudders* i don't care what you say, Kayt, it is a revolting mix of colours.

As for all that, yes, i like the skirt and boots too. :P

Everyone else LOVES that scarf. You and your Mum are the only people who haven't said it was awesome.

And it wasn't so much COLOUR that wasn't matching, but style, as well. I was wearing the brown boots, with a very summery, red skirt. It didn't go, and I'm comfortable with that.

tehe, but Kayt wouldn't be Kayt without the non-matching. On those odd occaisions when you pull something on that does match i have to take a backstep and rearrage my head a little.

You've gotta get style people like Claire, who know fashion, but also know personal style. And she actually likes your style, and has more sense of fashion then those airheads. Urgh, when are people going to work out that proper fashion has nothing to do with sodding conforming. It's about what suits you.

Silly nongheads.

Sam, my China buddy, made me start looking at people's shoes when we were bored in China. It is actually hilariously funny to see what some of them were wearing (like the woman with the kind of FLURO yet dark purple hair in a huge 80s perm...) but I don't want along going 'I can't believe she's wearing pink and brown...' mostly because I wouldn't notice :P
