Damn admin!

I had a class at 9am this morning, so I dutifully got up early and hit the road. I was so distracted by the latest radio report about the fires that I took the wrong turn at the dreaded Glenloch Interchange, which resulted in a 20 minute detour.

But that's why I always leave early. I arrived in time and waited. And waited. With six of my thirty-odd classmates, I waited.

No other students arrived and no teacher, so we went down to student services to ask what was happening. Apparently, the seven of us had misprinted timetables saying that two of our classes start next week when they actually start next week, like all the others.

Just us. Annoyed, but in good humour we exchanged farewells. I drove one girl into the city.

I went to the hospital to see my friend Deb. I was with her three weeks ago, while she was still in Emergency. She went in with crippling pain in her legs and she couldn't move them at all. I saw her again a week later and she still couldn't move.

When I went in today, she was sitting up in a wheelchair, which was a huge improvement. Then her physiotherapist came and using a walking frame, she managed to walk about thirty steps all up. It was so exciting! She's hoping to be back home and on crutches by the end of the week.

I took her for a walk in her chair and then I came home and made my own entertainment. But it was great to see that she's improved!

I'm quite curious as to what ails your friend.
