Silly kitty

On the one side of the glass door, a moth. Fluttering about in that creepy way they do.

On the other side, a small psychotic cat with a thirst for blood.

And she's jumping, hysterically, trying to catch that moth. She's leaping as high as she can, claws out, determined to kill it.

FOR AN HOUR.

This is a cat that can sense when I'm going to lock her away so I can go out. This is a cat who knows when she's going TO the vet and when she's coming back. This is a cat who is making progress in learning to use the toilet.
This is a cat, much unlike old Maxy, who is fed in the same place every day and RETAINS THIS IN HER MEMORY.

In short, while not a genius, this is a cat with cat's intuition and some capacity for learned behaviour.

IT'S ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE GLASS. YOU'VE SMACKED YOUR HEAD ON THAT GLASS 500 TIMES, ALREADY!!!

She can't help it. It's the blood... she craves the blood.

I hope cats can't suffer too severely from an acquired brain injury.

Still... I agree strongly with her anti-moth stance.

Ah, cats. They're so wonderfully insane. You'd think they'd have more sense, what with having a slightly bigger brain than a moth. But no - there they are, both banging their heads against the glass. I wish I could see it, really.

I'm never happier that I have cats when a moth intrudes (happens often, since I like to read in the evenings and I keep my window open, since I also like to breathe). I try and throw them out alive, but they sort of freak me out (when they're heading for a light that's right next to my head). My cats go insane trying to catch the critter. So usually they catch the moth before I throw it out. Master hunters indeed.
