Kayt Crankypants Strikes Again...

Grrr...

*is cranky*

I haven't been online much. Sorry about that, but you wouldn't have liked me much anyway, as I'd only have been sullen and snappy anyway.

Accordingly, a sojourn into 1807. You may be interested to know what I intend my new Somerset world to include rigel_7 as a wanton bad influence! She knows why. Shocking young lady, she is! She proposed looking at stable-boys with no shirts.

That's just not on. Not in sanitary 1807.

Dear Journal,
The journey to Somerset seems longer this time than last. Perhaps it was the weather. Edward was all stories about Cambridge, but he kept stopping every few sentences, as though he were about to mention something unsavoury. It must be a frightfully undecorous place, judging from his countenance. I do hope Edward is not spoiled by it.
Ogilvy Manor is a pleasant place, very grand, but at the same time, very comfortable. I suspect this is Daphne's influence, turning the house into a home. The gardens are extensive; one rarely sees a private garden at all, in town, which makes Sir James' appear even more remarkable. He has several hothouses, but he told me almost as soon as I arrived that he cannot produce even a single pineapple. One does not need pineapples, however, to enjoy a place.
Daphne took me for a stroll around the grounds, a journey which seemed to take an uncommonly long time. Tomorrow, she says, we shall walk the mile to Hampton Cottage, to call upon Elizabeth. Little Charles, she says, is very like his father and not like Elizabeth at all, although one wonders how much a child truly resembles anyone at such an age. All very young babies appear alike to me, except perhaps for their eyes. William and Charlotte, however, have just reached the age when one can clearly determine what they are going to look like. Charlotte reminds me very much of Aunt Daphne, and William of Edward, particularly in his eyes.
What other news? There is a militia camped in the area, and all the officers have taken lodgings in the village. Little Thomas' Latin master has just given his notice this past week. Sir James has bought two new mares. Young James is in town, though Edward says he tried to persuade him to return with us. Louisa and Emily are as always.

And on that note, either highly telling or very uninformative, about Louisa and Emily, I shall leave 1807. I'm still a bit crankypants, but at least I'm not quite so bad as before.

What's going on in the real world, you ask? Ups and downs. My Uncle came down over the weekend, to break the news of his divorce to my Grandmother. He brought us his data-projector, so we could watch Doctor Who on a huge screen. (minnn was right. It rocks.) Uni, as usual, sucks mightily. My Puppy-Poo has dermatitis and has to wear one of those big cones around her neck to stop her chewing her feet. She looks so silly! Poor muffin, although she milks it for all it's worth. That's about it really. I'm a bad bad person who doesn't write nearly enough and needs sponge-cake right now.

Sponge-cake... that'll make me feel better...

Ooh, a militia, you say? So does this mean you'll be off in town, staring at all those army officer-types if there aren't any shirtless stable boys to be found?

Okay, okay, i get the hint, we're obviously going to have to look for a place that sells sponge cake today... but... but... i don't know if anywhere sells sponge cake.... (is going to be dragged all about Civic by Kayt in her attempt to secure some sponge cake) :P

and don't need a pineapple? you might make Clare cry :P

Everyone needs a pineapple. One should never underestimate the power of a pineapple to cheer one up on a miserable day, especially when given by said Clare. I just wish they lasted longer.

One doesn't need a pineapple to be happy. But one is always happier with a pineapple than without.

And I bet Edward will get all jealous and angsty and start saying pseudo-intellectual things in a snooty manner to try and make Kayt hurt as much as he's hurting inside. Oh, the angst! I can find it anywhere.

*grugs angst*

You can't hurt me, you make me laugh too much!

*tickles angst under its chin*

He might.

I have several ideas for what to do with Edward. It could go in any number of directions.

I bet she'd stare at officers with no shirts. She's just a snob when it comes to perving, is our 1807 Kayt.

Oh yes, you couldn't look at the lowly stable boys, but hansom officers with their shiny uniforms (which they happen to not be wearing some of the articles of at this present moment) are a-ok.
